Saurabh Chandrakar – the promoter of the Mahadev Online Book gaming, book app has recently garnered significant attention for his extravagant wedding in Dubai where he reportedly spent a staggering Rs 200 crore. The event which took place in February has now come under scrutiny by the Enforcement Directorate due to its lavish expenses.
Chandrakar’s wedding in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, saw guests arriving on private jets. The entire transportation cost including private jets and hotel accommodations summed to Rs 42 crore and notably, all payments were made in cash.
In addition to these expenses Chandrakar allocated Rs 142 crore to an event management company to orchestrate the extravagant affair. The wedding also featured Bollywood celebrities who were hired to perform, including Vishal Dadlani, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Kriti Kharbanda, Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Bharti Singh, Krushna Abhishek and Atif Aslam.
The Mahadev Book App, associated with Chandrakar, faced legal issues as well. The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids on the app’s founders’ offices in various cities, including Kolkata, Bhopal and Mumbai, seizing assets worth Rs 417 crore. It is alleged that the company, operating from Dubai, used the online book application to recruit new users, generate user IDs and engage in money laundering through a complex network of Benami bank accounts.
Saurabh Chandrakar and the promoters of the Mahadev gaming-book app, originally from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh were involved in providing online platforms for illegal betting websites. These revelations have thrust their activities into the public eye, raising concerns about the legality and ethics of their operations.
