22 Mumbai Suburban Trains Cancelled Due To Ongoing Work On Goregaon-Kandivali Station

Western Railway started work on the Goregaon-Kandivali station leading to the cancellation of 22 suburban trains and short termination and origination of 4 trains. The work will start today (28 August 2024) on the 6th line between Goregaon and Kandivali at 11:00 p.m. It will help in developing the infrastructure of the locality and enhance the connectivity of the cities. Western Railways is taking up this 35-day project. The project will complete on 6 October 2024. However, the workers can take off from 11 September 2024 to 17 September 2024 due to Ganesh Chaturthi.

Western Railways will be working on the 6th lane from Goregaon to Kandivali. Thus, the project will cover 4.5 KM. The trains cancelled or short-terminated are already informed. Thus, the western railways request all the passengers to move accordingly. General Manager Ashok Kumar Misra says that the project will complete within the given period of 35 days. However, there is no confirmation about how long it take to complete because of the holidays from 11 Sep to 17 Sep. The workers will be working 10 hours on the weekends.

The Chief Public Relations Officer also shared the news about the cancellation of 22 suburban trains. Their work will be from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Some trains are short-terminated while others will be cancelled. The majority will be cancelled. Only a few will be short-terminated. The Goregaon to Kandivali functions will start after 4:00 AM on Thursday. Apart from that, Mumbai is also having heavy rainfalls that led to train cancellations a few days ago.
