Birla Opus expanded its reach to 300 towns in just a few months. The company expanded its production in south India starting from north India. It shows a huge potential for Birla Opus to come in the top 3 paint companies in the next three years. The company also aims to turn profitable in the next three years.

Birla Opus Reaches 300 Towns In 6 Months

Birla Opus is a new competitor in the paint industry. It began its operations in the north Indian states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi six months ago. However, it has now expanded to South Indian states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The company used a lot of different techniques to expand its reach in these 300 towns. Things like trade expos and free paint tinting machines helped the company expand to other states.

Birla Opus is also playing well in terms of the prices. It has a price of 15-20% less than Asian Paints. The top leader, Asian Paints is yet to match this price. It is attracting more customers to the company. Asian Paints holds 50% of the market share in decorative paints. Thus, Birla Opus is also expected to turn profitable in three years. It has a target to rake Rs. 10,000 crore revenue in the there years. Birla Opus’s products are reaching the south Indian states through its three new plants in the south.

The new plants are in the following states:

  1. Chamarajanagar, Karnataka
  2. Mahad, Maharashtra
  3. Kharagour, West Bengal

Birla Opus has a lot of plans for the coming years. The industry is focusing on reaching 300 towns through its franchises. They also want to expand to 6,000 towns by FY25. It had only three plants in the beginning Panipat, Haryana, Ludhiana, Punjab, and Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu. Birla Opus is going to surpass several of its competitors soon. The company is targeting the paints segment. It will grow further in the coming years.

The top competitor, Asian Paints made a consolidated net sales of Rs. 35,382 Crores with a net profit of Rs. 5,460 Crores previously. In conclusion, Birla Opus expanded in 300 towns aiming to reach 6,000 towns by FY 25. It also works on a franchise model like other players. It wants to expand its franchise in 300 towns by next year. The company’s recent campaign, ‘Make Life Beautiful’ becomes successful after releasing in June.
