Jharkhand: In the unions of SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant including SAIL’s Mines & Collieries, Central Coal Supply Organization, and the SAIL Refractory Unit 1 the  SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has formed a collation with MoU and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) to comprehend the potential of application of 5G/ IT/ telecom and other wireless communication technologies.

On 21st April 2023  at SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant, the MoU was signed.  B.K.Tiwari, Executive Director (Works)  from SAIL- BSL side and Ms. Alka Selot Asthana, Executive Director (IT & Telecom) from TCIL side signed the MOU in the presence of senior officers from both organizations.

The initiative of becoming the first PSU in the country is taken by SAIL-BSL. They aimed and now are all ready to set up a dedicated 5G network, which plans to pave the way for the application of 5G/ IT / Telecom technologies in Steel manufacturing with the help of TCIL. This partnership not only intends to benefit just steep plants but rather it will also be useful in providing innovative solutions in SAIL Mines and Collieries in Jharkhand, Smart Cities, etc.

To provide turnkey solutions for deployment, testing, and commissioning, TCIL possesses the necessary expertise, experience, and resources of 5G/ IT / Telecom technologies for SAIL-BSL, informs Ms. Alka Selot Asthana, Executive Director (IT & Telecom).
