Skoda plans to introduce the Enyaq IV in India as a completely built unit (CBU) and aims to offer it in a single variant. The company is targeting a price range of around Rs 35-40 lakh (approximately $47k-53k) for the Enyaq IV in India.

Skoda’s foray into the EV market in India comes at a time when the Indian government is actively promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. The government has set a target of having electric vehicles account for 30% of all new vehicle sales by 2030. This has led to several automakers launching electric vehicles in the Indian market.

Skoda’s parent company – the Volkswagen Group has also made significant investments in the Indian market in recent years. The group has committed to investing 1 billion euros in India as part of its India 2.0 plan which aims to strengthen the group’s presence in the Indian market. The Enyaq IV is expected to be a key product in this plan.

The Enyaq IV will compete in the Indian market with other electric SUVs such as the Tata Nexon EV, Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV. While the Enyaq IV will be positioned as a premium offering Skoda is expected to face stiff competition from established players in the market.

In conclusion, Skoda’s entry into the Indian EV market with Enyaq IV is a significant development for both the company and the Indian EV market. With the Indian government actively promoting the adoption of electric vehicles: Skoda is expected to gain a foothold in the market with its premium electric SUV. However, the company will need to face stiff competition from established players in the market.
