India has achieved a significant milestone. For the first time in history, India has been placed at the 99th rank out of 167 countries. During the 2025 sustainable development report i.e. SDR, India’s score was nearly 67. This is proof that we have taken a step forward as compared to the old ranks. Our previous ranks were 109th in 2024, and 112th in 2023.
Most of the credit for this achievement goes to the large-scale initiatives that come under the leadership of PM Modi. PM Awas Yojana under which approximately 4 crore houses were built, SDG 1 goal was enhanced – No poverty. Swachh Bharat mission which has fulfilled under 11 crore toilets and 2.23 lakh sanitary complexes i.e. SDG 6- Clean water and sanitation.
Under the Ujjwal Yojana, 10 crore LPG connections were delivered and along with it cleaned households and SDG 7 were promoted – Affordable and Clean Energy. Under Modi ji’s G20 presidency in 2023, India has launched several campaigns including sanitation and behavior changed campaigns even personally participating in clean drives.
The people and community of the country also play a very important role in this achievement. Activities like grassroots innovation in Madhya Pradesh reflect healthy locality and cleanliness. Jandhan accounts, LPG connections, and trainings reflect a strong individual and progress at a high level.
