New Delhi: Akzo Nobel India Ltd on Monday said it has received an order from the Kerala Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department raising a demand of ₹22.26 lakh in connection with alleged ineligible input tax credit (ITC) for the period April 2021 to March 2022.

The order, issued by the Assistant Commissioner, Kochi, follows a show cause notice served on the company in September 2025 under Section 73 of the CGST/SGST Act, 2017, the company said in a regulatory filing to stock exchanges.

The demand comprises tax of ₹20.35 lakh, along with applicable interest and a penalty of ₹1.91 lakh, aggregating to ₹22.26 lakh. The company added that it had earlier submitted its response along with supporting documents within the prescribed timeline.

Akzo Nobel India said the order is open for further submissions before the relevant authorities and that it is currently in the process of responding within the stipulated time.

The matter remains under litigation, and the company will provide updates as required under SEBI’s Listing Regulat ions
