Mumbai: Shareholders of JSW Energy Ltd have approved key resolutions, including a proposal to raise funds through a qualified institutions placement (QIP), at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) held on January 3, 2026.

In a regulatory filing, the company said shareholders passed a special resolution authorising the board to issue equity shares or other eligible securities to qualified institutional buyers, in one or more tranches, subject to applicable regulatory approvals.
The EGM also approved amendments to JSW Energy’s articles of association, aimed at aligning the charter documents with prevailing regulations and facilitating future capital-raising exercises, the filing said.
The approvals come as JSW Energy accelerates its expansion plans, particularly in renewable power, energy storage and green energy platforms, which require significant upfront capital expenditure. The company has been scaling up capacity additions across solar, wind and hybrid projects, alongside investments in battery energy storage systems.
JSW Energy said the voting at the EGM was conducted through remote e-voting and e-voting during the meeting, with the resolutions receiving the requisite majority support from shareholders.
The company added that the detailed voting results, along with the scrutiniser’s report, have been filed with stock exchanges in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations.
