New Delhi: HCL Technologies Ltd on Monday said it has won the Innovation Award at the 2025 Ericsson Supplier Awards, underscoring its growing role as a strategic technology partner to global telecom majors amid accelerating adoption of AI and automation.

The award recognises HCLTech’s contribution to enhancing Ericsson’s operational efficiency through AI-led capabilities, automation and cloud transformation. The two companies have been engaged in a multi-year collaboration focused on enabling zero-touch operations, improving operational stability and scaling critical infrastructure and applications across global user environments.
According to the company, HCLTech was selected from Ericsson’s global supplier ecosystem for its work in applying artificial intelligence and automation to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention, helping the telecom equipment maker improve reliability and efficiency at scale.
Apoorv Iyer, head of GenAI and AI practice at HCLTech, said the recognition validates the company’s approach of delivering end-to-end AI-led innovation, spanning silicon to cloud, with a focus on measurable business impact. He added that HCLTech aims to deepen its collaboration with Ericsson as the latter continues to invest in next-generation telecom technologies.
The recognition comes at a time when global telecom operators and equipment vendors are increasingly turning to AI and automation to manage complex networks, optimise costs and improve service quality. For HCLTech, the award further strengthens its credentials in the telecom and high-tech segments, which are key growth areas within its $14.5-billion global services business.
