Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Indian Bank and Bank of Maharashtra, in separate regulatory filings, said the strike notice has been issued by UFBU — an umbrella body of nine bank unions — along with the All India Bank Officers’ Association (AIBOA), over unresolved industry-level demands .

The banks clarified that while they are making arrangements to ensure smooth operations, branch and office functioning may be impacted if the strike materialises. The lenders said the issues raised by unions pertain to the banking industry as a whole, and the strike call has been made at an all-India level.

“The bank is taking necessary steps for smooth functioning of branches and offices on the day of the strike. However, in the event the strike materialises, normal banking operations may be affected,” the lenders said in their respective disclosures to the BSE and NSE.

The intimation has been made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which mandates listed entities to inform investors about events that could materially impact operations.

Customers have been advised to plan critical banking transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience in case the strike proceeds as scheduled.
