Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced that it has clinched investment proposals totalling nearly ₹3 lakh crore at the prestigious World Economic Forum (WEF) summit held from January 19 to 22 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, signalling robust global confidence in the state’s economic prospects and investment climate.

State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said the UP delegation held 119 high-level meetings with around 55-56 multinational companies, resulting in 31 MoUs covering diverse sectors that align with the state’s strategic priority areas.
The single largest commitment came from Netherlands-based AM-Green, which signed an MoU to invest about ₹2.1 lakh crore to establish a 1-gigawatt AI-centric data centre hub in Greater Noida — a project expected to position Uttar Pradesh as a major digital infrastructure and AI computing destination in India.
Other key agreements were inked in renewable energy, battery storage, hybrid and electric vehicles, green manufacturing parks, defence production, logistics and pharmaceuticals, indicating a broadening of the state’s industrial base and export-oriented capabilities.
Deals in green energy and sustainability are seen as particularly significant as global capital increasingly favours low-carbon projects; investment proposals include large-scale solar power and hybrid energy ventures slated to enhance Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy transition and job creation potential.
Khanna attributed the strong investor turnout to improvements in air, rail and road connectivity, supportive policy frameworks, and the state’s evolving business environment, which has helped position Uttar Pradesh as a competitive investment destination on the global map.
Companies from the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia and Singapore were among those engaged in discussions, reflecting broad international interest. The state government has said it expects further proposals to materialise even after the summit’s conclusion.
Officials also indicated that a single-window facilitation cell will be established to monitor and expedite implementation of the signed MoUs, with a view to fast-track project execution and maximize job creation in line with Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth targets.
The Davos outcomes build on Uttar Pradesh’s broader strategy to attract global capital and upgrade infrastructure across technology, manufacturing and sustainability sectors, bolstering its contribution to India’s overall economic expansion trajectory.
