The summit will be structured around three pillars—People, Planet and Progress—with deliberations centred on employment and skilling, sustainable and energy-efficient AI, and the use of technology for economic and social development. Seven thematic working groups, co-chaired by representatives from the Global North and Global South, are expected to present proposals including the creation of AI Commons, development of trusted AI tools, shared compute infrastructure, and sector-specific compendiums of AI use cases.

The event is aimed at aligning AI deployment with growth and inclusion, while addressing concerns around safety, governance, ethical use and data protection. Sessions will also focus on India’s approach to sovereign AI, including the development of indigenous foundation models for strategic sectors.

With more than 700 sessions planned over five days, the summit is expected to draw participation from governments, industry leaders, startups, researchers, students and citizens. The agenda includes discussions on how AI is reshaping professions and industries, the skills required for the evolving job market, and opportunities for startups to engage with investors and partners.

A key attraction will be the AI Impact Expo, which will showcase real-world applications across healthcare, agriculture, education, climate action, energy efficiency and accessibility, aimed at demonstrating how AI can improve service delivery and productivity.

The summit will also highlight national skilling initiatives such as ‘Yuva AI for All’, a free course designed to build basic AI awareness among students and professionals. Registration for the event is open on the official website, with the government urging participants to treat the summit as a learning and engagement platform to better prepare for an AI-driven economy.
