The summit, themed “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya — Welfare for All, Happiness for All,” underscores India’s push for human-centric and inclusive AI development.

AI for Inclusive Growth

In his address, Modi highlighted AI’s transformative role across healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise, stressing that innovation must align with public good.

“The AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on innovation, collaboration and responsible use,” the Prime Minister said, expressing confidence that the deliberations would help shape a progressive and opportunity-driven future.

The framing of AI as a tool for equitable growth reflects India’s attempt to balance technological acceleration with social responsibility — a theme that has gained prominence amid global debates around AI regulation and ethics.

India’s Digital Edge

Modi underscored that India stands at the forefront of the AI transformation, powered by its 1.4 billion citizens, robust digital public infrastructure and vibrant startup ecosystem.

India’s digital stack — including large-scale identity, payments and data infrastructure — has become a template for scalable technology deployment. Coupled with a rapidly expanding base of AI-focused startups and research initiatives, policymakers believe the country is well positioned to influence global AI standards.

The Prime Minister, in a post on X, reiterated that bringing global stakeholders together in Delhi signals India’s growing convening power in emerging technology governance.

The summit comes at a time when countries worldwide are racing to define AI regulatory frameworks, invest in domestic innovation and secure strategic advantages in advanced computing and data ecosystems.

By hosting the AI Impact Summit, India appears to be advancing a dual narrative — as both a fast-growing AI market and a thought leader advocating responsible and inclusive deployment.

Industry observers note that such high-level gatherings also help align domestic policy with global standards, particularly as India seeks to strengthen its position in AI research, semiconductor supply chains and digital services exports.

As deliberations unfold at Bharat Mandapam, the government is expected to emphasise collaboration between governments, academia and private enterprise — reinforcing India’s ambition to shape not just the adoption of AI, but the principles guiding its global evolution.
