The approval was granted after the MCA issued a fresh Certificate of Incorporation dated March 11, 2026, formally confirming the company’s transition from Akzo Nobel India to JSW Dulux.

The rebranding comes after JSW Paints acquired a majority stake of over 60% in Akzo Nobel India, becoming the promoter and holding company of the Dulux paint maker. The move was part of JSW Group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s fast-growing decorative paints market.

Company filings indicated that the new name reflects a combination of the JSW Group identity and the well-known Dulux brand, which remains one of the most recognised paint brands in India. The integration is expected to help the company leverage both Dulux’s brand equity and JSW’s industrial network.

Following the name change, the company will update its statutory records, regulatory filings and exchange disclosures to reflect the new corporate identity. Under legal requirements, the firm may also display both its former and new names for a transition period.

The development marks a significant shift in India’s paints industry landscape, as JSW Group seeks to expand its footprint and compete more aggressively with established players in the decorative coatings market.
