Ambareesh was not only a successful entrepreneur but also an angel investor. He began his professional journey in the business world by joining Cadbury in June 1996 as a Sales and Marketing professional. After spending five and a half years with the renowned chocolate manufacturer, he transitioned to the financial sector and became a VP Marketing and Customer Service at Prudential ICICI AMC (now ICICI Prudential) for nearly two years.

He later had a brief stint with Levi’s for five months before embarking on his own venture called Origin Resources. The start-up focused on training financial advisors and channel intermediaries, providing turnkey solutions to Indian Mutual Funds for setting up advisor networks. Although he closed Origin Resources in 2005, Ambareesh continued his journey in the corporate world, joining Britannia as a marketing manager for seven months.

Eventually, Ambareesh found his way to eBay India, where he served as the country manager for the Philippines, Malaysia, and India. In June 2011, he teamed up with Ashish Shah to co-found Pepperfry, an online marketplace specializing in selling home furniture and other items.

Ambareesh Murty’s untimely demise is a great loss to the business community, and he will be remembered as a mentor, brother, and soulmate by those who knew him closely. We extend our thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.
