Blue Dart Express Limited, in a strategic move, has rebranded its revamped service, formerly known as Dart Plus, as “Bharat Dart.” This significant shift was announced through an exchange filing by Blue Dart, citing extensive research and deliberation behind the decision. Balfour Manuel, the Managing Director of Blue Dart, expressed the significance of this rebranding, stating, “This rebranding represents an exciting transformation for us as we continue to serve the length and breadth of the country. Bharat Dart is the first step in a new and exciting chapter for our company and our nation.”

Blue Dart Renamed itself as 'Bharat Dart'

Bharat Dart aims to revolutionize express logistics services within Bharat (India), offering unparalleled speed, coverage, and support for businesses of all sizes. With an extensive network spanning over 55,000 locations across the nation, Blue Dart is well-positioned to redefine the logistics landscape.

The decision to rename Dart Plus to Bharat Dart coincides with recent developments in the country’s nomenclature. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s use of “Bharat” in his placard during the G20 summit sparked discussions about a potential name change from India to ‘Bharat.’ India is historically known by various names, including Bharat, Bharata, and Hindustan, which are used interchangeably in Indian languages.

While English communication from government officials has traditionally used “India,” recent instances, such as President Droupadi Murmu referring to herself as the “President of Bharat” in a G20 reception invitation, have added to the debate. During the G20 summit, PM Modi’s nameplate displayed “Bharat” alongside “India,” reflecting this linguistic diversity.
