New Delhi: Le Travenues Technology Ltd-owned AbhiBus has partnered with ride-hailing platform Uber to integrate intercity bus ticket bookings within the Uber app, expanding the platform’s mobility offerings beyond urban rides.
Under the partnership, Uber users across India will be able to search and book intercity bus tickets directly within the app using AbhiBus’s booking technology and inventory network. The integration provides access to over six lakh routes operated by more than 6,200 bus operators nationwide, the company said in a statement.
Users can access the service through the “Intercity” option within the Uber app, where they can select origin, destination and travel date, browse available bus services and complete bookings through integrated payment options.
The integration enables travellers to compare bus options, check real-time seat availability, select seats and filter services based on preferences such as AC, sleeper, seater, Volvo or Scania buses. Additional features include live bus tracking, route information, 360-degree bus images on select routes and round-the-clock customer support.
Rohit Sharma, COO of AbhiBus, said the partnership will make bus travel discovery as seamless as booking a cab by bringing the platform’s extensive operator network to millions of Uber users.
Uber said the integration is aimed at broadening its mobility ecosystem by allowing users to plan both intra-city and intercity journeys through a single platform.
AbhiBus, part of online travel aggregator ixigo, aggregates ticket inventory from state transport corporations and private operators and covers more than 6.5 lakh routes across India.
