The NSE Sustainability assessment, based on publicly available disclosures, reflects Adani Power’s performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) parameters, the company said.

NSE Sustainability Ratings and Analytics is a subsidiary of NSE Indices and part of the National Stock Exchange group.

On the environmental front, Adani Power has deployed ultra-supercritical boiler technology to improve efficiency and reduce emissions, alongside continuous emission monitoring systems and zero liquid discharge processes to minimise water usage. The company said these measures are aligned with global best practices in thermal power generation.

Social initiatives include community development programmes focused on education, healthcare and skill development, as well as workforce safety, training and diversity initiatives across its plants, the company added.

In governance, Adani Power said it exceeds statutory requirements on independent director representation across key board committees and has adopted enhanced ESG standards for suppliers and contractors to strengthen oversight across its value chain.

The company said the NSE Sustainability score follows other global assessments, including a ‘Medium Risk’ rating from Sustainalytics and a 77% ESG rating from CSRHub, both above industry averages. Adani Power is India’s largest private thermal power producer with an installed capacity of 18,110 MW.
