Adobe has made significant advancements in its artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives at the Adobe MAX conference. They introduced three new Firefly generative AI models, incorporating safety measures, and enhancing AI functionality in Adobe Express. Additionally, they unveiled around 100 new tools for their Creative Cloud apps, including Photoshop and Lightroom, and introduced a GenStudio solution for creators and specific workflows.

Adobe’s AI juggernaut adds new capabilities to Firefly and Creative Cloud apps

One notable feature introduced by Adobe is a “nutrition label” for AI-generated images. This label, known as Content Credentials, will be automatically attached to all images created using the Firefly tool. It includes details such as the creator’s name, date, and edits made, helping address concerns related to the authenticity and ownership of AI-generated images.

Adobe’s first-generation Firefly image model, released in March, received overwhelming community interest, with over 3 billion image generations conducted since its launch, including a billion in the last month. The company is expanding the Firefly lineup with the Firefly Image 2 Model, Firefly Vector Model, and Firefly Design Model, each tailored for different purposes.

The Firefly Image 2 Model aims to produce higher-quality imagery, particularly improving human features and text alignment. The Firefly Vector Model is the world’s first generative AI model for creating vector graphics, suitable for logos, icons, and website graphics. The Firefly Design Model is designed to generate template designs for various purposes.

Adobe is also collaborating with Google to make Photoshop available on the web with Firefly-powered Generative Fill and Generative Expand features. For Adobe Express users, there’s an AI co-pilot called Generative Fill that can assist in inserting, removing, or replacing objects. The Firefly Design Model enables users to generate editable templates using text descriptions.

Adobe is also introducing new drawing and painting tools and AI-powered text-based editing and motion improvements in Premiere Pro and After Effects apps. They are streamlining the process of publishing video content to platforms like Facebook and YouTube from Express and Premiere Pro apps. These advancements in Adobe’s AI capabilities demonstrate the company’s commitment to enhancing the creative and productivity tools available to consumers and creators.
