Bengaluru Drivers Shifting To Telegram And Whatsapp Groups To Skip The High Commission

Bengaluru drivers are moving towards the telegram and WhatsApp to skip the commission. It will increase the difficulty of the companies to maintain their business. Ola and Uber charge 30-40% of the rates as their commission from the drivers. These groups mainly work for dropping the company’s employees. It also works for the employee’s airport drops and inter-city travel. The groups have drivers, travel agents, tech parks, and transport managers.

Bengaluru drivers get notifications about passengers who want to go from one place to another. Thus, it helps them to get paid the full amount without the commission. Also, the passenger moving in the vehicle pays according to the fixed price by the government. The group admins allow the drivers in the group after full identity verification. They go through all the formalities. The group admins can do so with the help of the mParivahan app. It is the app where the admins can check all the documents like registration certificate, taxi permit, pollution under control certificate, and insurance documents.

If any document is expired like insurance, the group admins remove those drivers from the group. They will be able to access the group again only after re-submitting or renewing their documents. Thus, drivers are completely checked before entry for the passenger’s safety. The message in the group goes like this, “Need a Sedan, Neat and Clean vehicle with a white-uniformed driver. Ecospace Bellandur to Madhavara. Employees: 3. Time: 4:50 p.m. Amount: Rs. 750. Anyone willing to drop on the quoted price accepts the offer and goes for pickup. The tech transport managers or travel agents pay them through UPI in the case of the employees. If there are any normal passengers, they pay on the spot.

All these groups have some restrictions and only trusted members enter the group. According to the government fixed prices, the auto fare is Rs. 30 for the first two km. It adds Rs. 15 for every other km. It increases in the case of taxis depending upon the cost of the taxi.
