Berger Paints is the second biggest paint company in India. The company recently released its quarter reports with a rise in revenue from operations by 2%. The company has stood strong in this quarter as well. Being profitable again, Berger Paints is giving tough competition to the other paint industry giants. Berger Paints Q1 FY 25 Net Profit, Revenue From Operations, Sales, And Performance Analysis
Berger Paints reported a rise in revenue from operations of 2% on a YOY basis. The company’s revenue from operations is Rs. 3,091 Crores which was Rs. 3,029.5 Crores a year ago in the same quarter. While the quarter basis basis saw a bigger rise of 20% from Rs. 2,520.2 Crores in the Jan-Mar 2024 quarter. The market estimated the revenue from operations a little higher.
The company had expenses of Rs. 2,274.13 Crores in the previous quarter and Rs. 2,570.68 Crores in the previous year in the same quarter. However, the expenses in the current quarter are Rs. 2,670.98 Crores. All the paint companies had higher expenses in Q1 because of several reasons. However, it should not impact the market much.
On the other hand, the company had a net profit of Rs. 354.03 Crores. While it was Rs. 354.91 Crore a year ago in the same quarter and Rs. 222.62 crore in the previous quarter. Thus, the net profit for the company on a YOY basis was almost flat. While the quarter basis saw almost 60% rise in the net profits. Berger Paints performed quite well on a quarter basis despite different challenges in the industry. The market estimated around Rs. 345 crores in profit. However, the company outperformed in terms of net profits.
If we talk about Earnings Per Share (EPS), it is 3.03% for the Q1 FY25. While it was 1.90% a quarter ago and 3.04% a year ago. The company’s EBITDA fell 6.2% to Rs. 522.4 Crores from Rs. 556.7 Crores a year ago. Thus, the company had a flat performance on a YOY basis. While it outperformed quarterly.
Berger Paints has a share price of Rs. 526.05 per share. It opened at Rs. 532.95 per share hitting the lowest of the day at Rs. 521.75 and highest at Rs. 546.05 per share.
