Ghaziabad to host EV testing and chemical analysis facilities

Ghaziabad, 9 Sept —

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has announced the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle Testing Facility and a Chemical Laboratory at the National Test House in Ghaziabad on 10 September.

The EV lab will test batteries, components, and safety systems to ensure compliance with international standards, while the chemical facility will expand testing for consumer products. Officials said these upgrades are critical as EV adoption accelerates and product safety expectations rise.

Industry experts welcomed the move. “Rigorous testing infrastructure builds consumer trust, especially in emerging technologies like EVs,” said an automotive analyst.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader push to improve product certification and regulatory enforcement across sectors. The labs are expected to serve both domestic manufacturers and exporters.
