The expected launch date for the Momentum 2.0 app is in August 2023 although the exact date and time are yet to be announced. Currently, the app is undergoing close group testing to ensure its overall performance is top notch. Additionally smart lockers and virtual stores are being installed at the stations in preparation for the app’s launch.
Once launched the DMRC’s Virtual Shopping app will empower passengers to make a wide range of purchases and book services while on the train. They can then conveniently collect their items at their destination station. The app will offer various custom made services, including last-mile connectivity options, a diverse selection of e shopping choices, and digital lockers for secure and speedy deliveries. Moreover, the app will facilitate smart card recharge and provide smart payment options for other utility services.
Beyond shopping and services, the ‘Momentum 2.0’ mobile application will serve as a comprehensive guide for Delhi Metro commuters. It will provide real-time information on train arrival times, as well as detailed insights into the facilities available at metro stations. This includes information about gates, lifts, escalators, platforms, coach occupancy and available space. Additionally, commuters can find details about shops, outlets, kiosks and ATMs within the stations through the app.
With this exciting initiative, Delhi Metro is set to enhance the overall travel experience for its passengers by combining travel convenience with a variety of essential services and offerings.
