Jan Aushadi Kendra is doing well around the country and the government also supporting them. Recently, On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Health and Chemicals & Fertilisers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced a major announcement for the Jan Aushadi Kendra operators. This new scheme is going to help Jan Aushadi Kendra operators and will help them in expanding the network. Let’s unveil all the details below and key facts related to this scheme.

Dr Mandaviya launches SIDBI Scheme to support Jan Aushadi Kendra Operators

As per the details, the loan for Jan Aushadi Kendra Operator will be provided by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). This scheme will help small operators to expand their network. Also, it will contribute to the starting of a new Jan Aushadi Kendra in the country.

Through this scheme, the government is aiming to achieve the target of 25,000 Janaushadi Kendras across the country by March 31, 2026. This initiative may boost the starting of the opening of new Jan Audhadi Kendras by supporting operators by providing loans.

Currently, till January 31, 2024, there are around 10,624 pradhan mantri Bhartiya Janaudhadi Kendras (PMBJKs) operating across the country and functional right now.

These Jan Aushadi Kendras saved the money of citizens. As per the data from 2022-23, the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) registered sales of ₹1,235.95 crore which led to savings of around ₹7,416 crore to citizens. The numbers show that around 293 surgical items and 1,965 generic drugs have been sold through the Janaushadi Kendras at affordable rates to people.
