Initially, Zepto’s Dharavi Warehouse, whose licence was earlier suspended by Maharashtra’s FDA, has resumed operations after a significant development. The Maharashtra FDA- Food and Drug Administration, subsequently revoked the suspension, after a re-inspection after some compliance report.
Following this, the zepto has addressed the previous restrictions found, and implemented all the guidelines by FDA. Quick commerce has again resumed.
Earlier, on 1st June 2025, Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration suspended Zepto’s Dharavi warehouse food licence. During the surprise inspection by FDA, many hygienic violations were found in the warehouse. Like fungal growth was seen on food packets, expired and fresh items were stored at the same place. This action happened after the tip off by the Minister of State for FDA, Yogesh Kadam.
The FDA clearly said that there will be no compromise on food safety and people’s health. Now on this Zepto says that they have started internal review and are taking required actions in collaboration with the authorities. The company says that food safety is their top priority.
On this, zepto responded by taking initiatives like internal audit, water quality testing and implemented the guidelines followed by FDA. After a hearing on June13, FDA’s authority reviewed the compliance and conducted reinspection. On June 14, officially FDA lifted the suspension, Zepto’s Dharavi warehouse is all set to resume its operations.
The Zepto’s Dharavi dark store is now fully set to again start its functioning. This quick commerce incident raised many questions on quick delivery and many operations. Consequently, it is being stable now. The instant delivery resumes its operations in between 10-30 minutes. Also, following all the rules and regulations.
