HBTU To Have New Excellence Centre And Paint Lab For Students Pursuing As Paint Technologists

HBTU (Harcourt Butler Technical University) will be building an excellence centre for the student’s skill development. It will contain a paint lab for the students to understand the technical aspects of a long-lasting paint material improving their knowledge and experience. What Will Be Inside HBTU’s New Paint Research Lab?

Harcourt Butler Technical University’s new lab will be created on a world-class level for students’ skill development. The paint industry is currently booming as the predictions expect the FY25 to be a successful year for all the players. HBTU will have an excellence centre inside their building along with a paint lab. It will be a research lab that will act as a platform to understand the different needs of the paint industry. It will also help the technologist research the paint’s different categories and nature.

As the country progresses, there is a strong need to form these types of research labs to provide better paint quality. The Paint and Coating Technologist Association proposed the idea for the creation of such labs. They already provided Rs. 2 Crores for the development of this lab to HBTU. The university gave its agreement for the construction, which will begin by 2024. It will be the best research centre in the country.

HBTU will get financial help from other paint organizations as well. Thus, there will be no shortage of funds. It will get verified and approved by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). The paint lab aims to attract paint manufacturers from around the world to test products in the lab. Apart from the foreign visits, the MSME segment will get the most benefit from the lab. They will be able to test the technical quality of the paint to cater to customers with better service.

Small and Medium operators in paints often don’t have enough resources to test the paint qualities. Often big companies and manufacturers have these testing resources. However, many times they also depend on foreign centres for these tests. Thus, the lab will be a great gift for all the paint dealers. The lab workers will get proper training for it adding a touch of perfection in its every report.
