New Delhi: HCLSoftware, the enterprise software business of HCLTech, on Monday said it will acquire Wobby, an early-stage artificial intelligence startup based in Belgium, for a total consideration of €4.5 million in an all-cash transaction, as it sharpens its focus on GenAI-driven data and analytics offerings.

The acquisition will be executed through Actian Germany GmbH, a step-down wholly owned subsidiary of HCLTech, and is expected to be completed by February 2026, subject to regulatory approvals including Belgian foreign direct investment clearance.
Founded in 2023, Wobby develops AI data analyst “agents” that allow users to query complex enterprise datasets using natural language and receive real-time, actionable insights. The startup reported revenues of €0.1 million in 2024 and operates on a proprietary semantic layer and agentic architecture designed to automate analytics workflows at scale.
HCLSoftware said demand for its data management, governance and metadata solutions under the Actian brand has grown steadily over the past five years. The addition of Wobby’s agentic AI capabilities is expected to enhance self-service analytics and accelerate customers’ GenAI adoption by enabling faster, context-rich decision-making.
The company said the transaction does not qualify as a related-party deal and will result in HCLTech acquiring 100% of Wobby’s equity. HCLTech reported consolidated revenues of $14.2 billion for the 12 months ended September 2025.
