HCLTech Arm to Acquire Jaspersoft for $240 Million to Boost Data, AI Play

 New Delhi: HCLSoftware, the software products arm of HCL Technologies, has announced its intent to acquire Jaspersoft, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, for a total consideration of $240 million in an all-cash deal.

The acquisition is aimed at strengthening HCLSoftware’s Data & AI division, Actian, by adding embedded analytics and pixel-perfect reporting capabilities to its portfolio, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.Jaspersoft is known for its business intelligence platform that enables enterprises to build pixel-perfect reports, interactive dashboards and advanced visualisations, with a strong presence in regulated industries such as government, banking and financial services. Post-acquisition, around 115 Jaspersoft employees are expected to transfer to HCLSoftware.HCLTech said demand for Actian’s data management, metadata and governance solutions has grown steadily over the past five years, and the integration of Jaspersoft will allow the company to offer an end-to-end, AI-powered embedded analytics experience to enterprise customers.The transaction is structured as an asset carve-out rather than a share acquisition and does not constitute a related-party transaction. It will be funded entirely through cash and is subject to regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions, including clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).The acquisition is expected to close within six months of signing. HCLTech said the move aligns with its broader strategy to deepen software-led revenues and expand its presence in high-growth segments such as data platforms, analytics and artificial intelligence.
