Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (StartupTN), the principal agency promoting entrepreneurship in the state, is gearing up to launch ‘Startup Thamizha, – a Tamil Startup reality show. Drawing inspiration from global and national successes like Shark Tank : the objective is to instill a culture of entrepreneurship among Tamil Nadu’s youth and provide a larger platform for innovative ideas.
Startup Thamizha will take the form of a reality television program, acting as a bridge between promising startups and active investors. Its overarching aim is to raise awareness about the burgeoning startup ecosystem within the state. The show’s producers and creative teams were selected through a public tender process conducted by StartupTN, and it will soon be officially launched on a prominent television channel.

Key details such as the composition of the investor panel, the show’s format and the application process will be unveiled during the formal launch. Notably the panel of investors will consist of influential angels and business executives hailing from Tamil Nadu. Moreover the show will open up investment opportunities to a wider audience beyond the initial investor panel.
Sivarajah Ramanathan, the mission director and CEO of StartupTN emphasized that Startup Thamizha seeks to foster a cultural shift in the minds of innovators, encouraging them to become employers by leveraging available resources and embracing risk taking while dispelling the fear of failure. Additionally the show aims to shed light on innovative investment opportunities, making potential investors aware of novel avenues for financial backing.
