The Indian Medical Devices sector is set to receive a major boost as the Department of Pharmaceuticals plans to organize the first-ever National Level Expo on the Medical Devices sector. The three-day event, known as the IMTE-23, will be held in Gandhi Nagar from 18-20 August 2023, alongside the G-20 Health Ministers meeting.

The event will showcase the capabilities of the Indian Medical Devices industry and create opportunities to network and explore collaborations for the sector’s growth in India and its potential contribution globally. Around 150+ new businesses, over 275 Indian and global clinical gadget organizations and MSME units, and around 50 examination establishments will be partaking in the exhibition. Moreover, 200 new buyers will be worked with for B2B responsibility.

The Clinical Gadgets Industry is the most noteworthy among every one of the areas in the medical care market, with different classifications of gadgets, from consumables to implantable clinical gadgets, being produced in India. 

With a CAGR of 10-12% over the past decade, the medical devices sector in India is currently valued at 11 billion USD. The industry is in a growth phase and could be worth $50 billion by 2030. The proposed expo will establish a brand identity for the Indian MedTech sector and increase global exposure for the medical device ecosystem.

The India MedTech Expo, which was rescheduled after receiving an overwhelming response from the medical technology industry, will now take place in August 2023, in conjunction with the meeting of the G-20 Health Ministers. The move will give this Sunrise Sector, which the Department of Pharmaceuticals is supporting through various initiatives, the much-needed boost it needs. By and large, this exhibition will give a novel stage to clinical gadget organizations, new businesses, and examination establishments to feature their capacities and investigate open doors for cooperation and development.
