Legendary businessman Ratan Naval Tata passed away late on Wednesday, 9 October 2024. Social media is full of condolences for one of the kindest personalities. He was a respected businessman who won hearts more than money, which is why every citizen of India is mourning his loss. On 7 October 2024, Ratan Tata was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai and brought back home after his demise.
What Legacy Does Ratan Tata Leave Behind At 86?
The cause of Ratan Tata’s death is not entirely clear. According to sources, he was suffering from some age-related ailments. He died two days after being admitted to the hospital. The legend was 86 at the time of his passing. Not only his family but the entire nation is mourning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted saying the death of Ratan Tata deeply saddens him. He further described him as a visionary business leader and a compassionate soul who was an extraordinary human being.
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra also appeared in the grief of losing a legend. “The Indian economy is on the brink of a historic leap. And Ratan’s life and work have had a lot to do with our being in this situation”, said Anand. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has proposed to honour Ratan Tata with the Bharat Ratna Award. Since Ratan Tata has been close to the hearts of many, those who wish to pay him respect can visit the National Centre for the Performing Arts (MCPA). His body will be there from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm today.
Tata Consultancy has also cancelled the press conference for the second quarter results. Other discussions are also going on amid the rituals after his death. Ratan Tata was a prominent figure in the entire Tata Group, including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Titan and Indian Hotels Company. But who will succeed the company as the business tycoon has no children?
There is a buzz that Ratan Tata’s half-brother Noel Tata can handle this role. However, He is already playing a key role in managing Trent. Zudio is a prominent name of the brand. While, Noel Tata’s children, Leah, Maya, and Neville can also be among the ones handling the position. They are already handling smaller roles in the company. Leah Tata is handling The Indian Hotels Company Limited. Maya Tata is handling the Tata Neu App as an analyst. While Neville Tata is handling Trent’s Star Bazaar, a supermarket chain for grocery and household.
