New Delhi: IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has filed a lawsuit against Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) in the Delhi High Court, alleging infringement of its “6E” trademark. The dispute arose after M&M used the “6E” mark to brand its line of electric vehicles (EVs).
IndiGo claims that “6E” is integral to its brand identity, as it is prominently used in flight codes, marketing campaigns, and loyalty programs. The airline argues that M&M’s use of the same mark for EVs could cause brand confusion among customers.
Legal experts see this as a landmark case involving cross-industry trademark disputes. If IndiGo succeeds, it could set a precedent for trademark protection across diverse business sectors. M&M has not yet commented on the matter, and the court is expected to hear the case later this month.
