Under the partnership, Infosys will deploy Cognition’s AI software engineer Devin across its internal engineering ecosystem and client delivery engagements worldwide. The collaboration combines Devin’s autonomous engineering capabilities with Infosys Topaz Fabric, the company’s agentic AI services layer designed to integrate infrastructure, data, models and workflows into a unified, enterprise-ready platform.

Infosys said it has been using Devin internally for the past six months and has seen significant improvements in engineering quality and efficiency. The IT services major will now scale the tool across client engagements, embedding it into delivery models and enabling deployment within customers’ own engineering environments.

The partnership is aimed at automating brownfield engineering, reducing technical debt and accelerating application modernisation. Infosys and Cognition will jointly develop industry-specific solutions, AI-native modernisation blueprints and shared engineering frameworks to ensure secure, large-scale adoption across sectors such as financial services, manufacturing and technology.

Infosys’ financial services practice is already leading the first wave of joint client deployments, using Devin to transform engineering delivery across banking, payments, capital markets and insurance, the company said.

“This collaboration marks a significant step forward in accelerating AI value realisation for global enterprises,” said Salil Parekh, chief executive officer and managing director of Infosys, adding that the integration of agentic AI into core engineering workflows would create a differentiated value proposition for clients.

Scott Wu, founder and CEO of Cognition, said Infosys is the first large digital services firm to deploy agentic AI tools such as Devin at scale, enabling enterprises to dramatically accelerate time-to-market and improve returns on engineering investments.
The move underscores the growing push by large IT services companies to industrialise generative and agentic AI capabilities, as enterprises seek tangible productivity gains and faster outcomes from AI adoption amid a competitive and cost-conscious environment.
