JLN Stadium Delhi Gate Collapse Left 8 People Injured

JLN Stadium Delhi gate collapse took place on 17 February 2024, Saturday. The incident injured eight people. The footage went viral all over social media handles. The X post from ANI shows the gate collapse and people running away from it. The good thing was that the laborers were on their lunch break. If they were present during the collapse, the conditions might become severe.

The people injured were taken to AIMS Trauma Centre for treatment. Apart from the injured ones, there were 10-12 people who were rescued under the debris. Firstly, three trapped people were rescued, later the rest were also taken out. The gate was set up for the wedding at the stadium. However, the Delhi Police reached the place of the incident and found everything scattered.

JLN Stadium Delhi gate collapse took place in the morning around 11:00 am. It was not the first time that such an incident took place. An incident last week took the life of a 53-year-old man at Gokalpuri Metro Station. The wall of the metro station fell apart. The man passed away after coming under the debris. Apart from that four other men got injured as well. The incident was considered a severe one taking away the lives of people.

As it took place at Delhi Metro Station, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took responsibility for the incident. They declared compensation for all the people facing any loss during the incident. The 53-year-old man who passed away was compensated with Rs. 25 Lakhs to his family. Those with major injuries got compensation of Rs. 5 Lakhs and those with minor injuries got a compensation of Rs. 1 Lakhs.

The construction team was also said to be responsible for the falling of the wall. Therefore, the manager and the junior engineer were suspended from their jobs.
