New Delhi: JSW Steel Ltd on Tuesday said it has secured the highest score globally in the steel sector in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2025, underscoring the company’s focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.

In a regulatory filing, the company said it achieved a CSA score of 88, its highest-ever score, marking a 7% year-on-year improvement. The performance places JSW Steel in the 100th percentile of the global steel industry, making it the top-ranked steelmaker in the latest assessment.
The S&P Global CSA evaluates the sustainability performance of over 12,000 companies worldwide and serves as the basis for inclusion in leading ESG indices such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) and the S&P 500 ESG Index.
Commenting on the development, Jayant Acharya, Joint Managing Director and CEO, said the company continues to treat sustainability as a strategic, enterprise-wide priority, with a focus on areas such as climate action, nature conservation and social sustainability.
The strong CSA performance comes amid growing scrutiny by global investors on ESG disclosures and climate transition strategies, particularly in carbon-intensive sectors such as steel.
JSW Steel said its industry-leading sustainability performance reflects tangible progress in aligning business growth with responsible manufacturing practices and long-term value creation.
