New contracts across five countries span energy, fertiliser, refinery, and nuclear sectors, reinforcing company’s global engineering leadership
Mumbai, October 28, 2025:

In a major boost to India’s engineering and manufacturing exports, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its Heavy Engineering Division has secured a series of significant orders in both domestic and international markets. The contracts, valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore, span across energy, fertiliser, refinery, and nuclear sectors — solidifying L&T’s position as one of the world’s most trusted providers of large-scale industrial solutions.
According to the company’s official statement, the new projects have been awarded by clients from the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia, as well as major customers within India. The global contracts include fabrication and supply of process equipment, reactors, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers for complex projects in the natural gas liquids (NGL), blue ammonia, and petrochemical segments.
Strong International Momentum
Industry observers see this development as part of a larger global trend where Indian engineering firms are emerging as preferred partners for high-precision manufacturing. “The increasing demand for L&T’s heavy engineering capabilities from Western and Middle Eastern markets underscores the global trust in Indian manufacturing quality,” said a senior industry analyst at Motilal Oswal.
The company’s Hazira and Powai facilities in India — both globally certified — will execute a substantial portion of these orders. These units are equipped to handle critical metallurgy and high-pressure fabrication, enabling L&T to deliver turnkey solutions for clients in sectors with demanding technical requirements.
L&T’s latest wins include a major contract for blue ammonia equipment for a project in Saudi Arabia, as global demand for cleaner fuels accelerates. Blue ammonia, a derivative of hydrogen with captured carbon, has become central to the energy transition strategies of oil economies seeking to reduce carbon footprints.
Domestic Wins Strengthen India Operations
Domestically, L&T Heavy Engineering will supply key process equipment for the 3 MMTPA PTA7 project at Dahej, Gujarat, one of the largest petrochemical expansions currently underway in India. The project will contribute to India’s growing self-reliance in the chemicals and downstream manufacturing sectors.
In addition, L&T has secured nuclear power equipment contracts from leading public sector undertakings, reaffirming its critical role in India’s civil nuclear ecosystem. The company has a long-standing partnership with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and has contributed to the construction of several pressurised heavy-water reactor (PHWR) systems.
Strategic Positioning and Execution Strength
L&T’s Heavy Engineering business has consistently been positioned as a core profit driver within the company’s infrastructure-to-technology portfolio. With over five decades of experience in delivering complex, high-specification engineering systems, the division serves clients in over 30 countries.
The company’s ability to design, manufacture, and deliver to international codes and standards has made it a preferred partner for energy majors such as Saudi Aramco, ExxonMobil, and Petrobras. L&T’s global supply chain resilience and strong project execution record have helped it maintain competitiveness despite rising input costs and logistics challenges.
“Winning repeat orders from marquee global clients is a testament to our capability and credibility,” an L&T spokesperson said. “Our focus remains on precision engineering, safety, and sustainability as we expand into next-generation energy solutions.”
Sector Outlook and Market Reaction
The global engineering and EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) markets are witnessing a shift towards energy transition infrastructure, particularly hydrogen, ammonia, and carbon capture systems. L&T’s proactive diversification into these areas positions it well for the next decade of industrial transformation.
Analysts expect these new orders to enhance L&T’s order book visibility and support earnings growth in FY2026. “This reinforces L&T’s leadership in high-value manufacturing exports,” said a report by Jefferies India. “The focus on process equipment for cleaner energy systems shows the company’s alignment with global sustainability goals.”
While the company has not disclosed client names citing confidentiality clauses, it emphasized that execution timelines are already in motion and deliveries will take place between 2026 and 2028.
Conclusion
These multi-sector wins underscore L&T’s global competitiveness and the growing global recognition of Indian heavy engineering prowess. As global industries pivot towards decarbonisation and cleaner fuels, L&T’s expertise in precision manufacturing and energy transition projects will likely play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of India’s industrial exports.
