Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said its transportation infrastructure business has secured a significant order for Phase-2 of the Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road project in Telangana, underlining sustained public-sector spending on urban and regional connectivity.

The project involves the construction of a 22.3-km-long, access-controlled 3+3 lane radial road in Ranga Reddy district. As part of the scope, L&T will build a 3.6-km viaduct along with minor bridges, underpasses and culverts. The order also includes construction of service roads on both sides, retention structures, storm water drainage systems, footpaths, cycle tracks and landscaping works.
According to the company’s project classification, a “significant” order is valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore. The Hyderabad radial road is the first of several such corridors planned to link the city’s Outer Ring Road with the upcoming Regional Ring Road, aimed at easing congestion and improving regional mobility.
L&T said the project is expected to support economic growth in the region by improving access to key hubs such as IT corridors, Electronic City, the Young India Skills University and the proposed Bharat Future City. The order adds to L&T’s robust transportation infrastructure portfolio, which has seen steady inflows amid increased government focus on road and urban infrastructure development.
The engineering and construction major, with a market presence spanning EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing and services, continues to benefit from strong execution capabilities and a diversified order book. Analysts have said sustained infrastructure spending by states and the Centre is likely to support order momentum for large contractors such as L&T in the medium term.
