New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Thursday said it has received an adjudication order from the West Bengal GST authority raising a tax demand and penalty totalling ₹8.66 million in relation to the availment of goods and services tax (GST) credit.

In a regulatory filing, the country’s largest carmaker said the order pertains to the period from April 2018 to March 2023 and involves a tax demand of ₹4.33 million along with an equivalent penalty of ₹4.33 million. The order was received by the company on December 17, 2025.
Maruti Suzuki said the adjudication order relates to an alleged dispute over GST credit claims. The company added that there is no major impact on its financial, operational or other activities arising from the order.
The automaker said it will challenge the order before the first appellate authority, in line with the remedies available under the GST law. The company also reiterated its commitment to complying with applicable statutory and regulatory require ments.
