Bengaluru: IT services firm Mphasis on Friday announced the appointment of Girish Srikrishna Paranjpe as chairperson of its board, effective January 7, 2026, following approval through a circular resolution of the board. The appointment comes at a time when Mphasis is accelerating its pivot towards artificial intelligence-led and platform-driven solutions, amid heightened demand from global enterprises for digital transformation and automation. The company informed stock exchanges that the change in leadership at the board level does not alter its strategic direction, but is expected to add depth to governance and long-term value creation.

Paranjpe is a co-promoter and general partner at Exfinity Venture Partners and brings extensive experience across financial services, technology and investment management. He currently serves as an independent director on the boards of Axis Bank, CRISIL, Axis Max Life Insurance, Modenik Lifestyle and IBS Plc, giving him a wide vantage point across regulated and consumer-facing businesses.

Welcoming the appointment, Nitin Rakesh, CEO and managing director of Mphasis, said the company looks forward to Paranjpe’s leadership and perspective as it continues to execute its growth strategy and create value for stakeholders. Paranjpe, in turn, said it was an honour to assume the role at a time when AI is reshaping technology and business models, and that he looks forward to working closely with the board and management to drive innovation and sustainable long-term growth.

Mphasis has been positioning itself as an AI-led, platform-driven technology solutions provider, with a focus on embedding artificial intelligence across enterprise IT stacks through its proprietary platforms and frameworks. Analysts said board-level continuity and experienced leadership could help the company navigate an uncertain global macro environment while capitalising on structural demand for AI, cloud and digital engineering services.

Shares of Mphasis were trading steady in early trade, with investors viewing the board appointment as a governance-led development rather than a shift in operational or financial outlook.
