With diplomatic tensions between Washington and Beijing and the effects of strict covid policies on the supply chain, India is becoming an important part of Apple’s plans to move its production of devices and components away from China. According to a recent Bloomberg News report, whereas only 1% of Apple’s iPhones were built in India in 2021, that percentage increased to 7% in 2015. Additionally, it is said that Apple intends to manufacture iPods and iPads in India.
