After the ongoing tensions between India-Pakistan, India banned Pakistan’s actors, Cricketers Social Media Accounts. Pakistani actors were removed from Indian movies and songs posters. This step was taken after the Pahalgam attack.
On Wednesday, the Instagram accounts of Pakistani actors like Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar, Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi, and Danish Taimoor were visible. As per the sources, these accounts were made unblocked due to “technical reasons”.
The YouTube channels of cricketers Shahid Afridi, and Shoaib Akhtar were also made visible. However, some of the accounts still remains inaccessible in India.
Earlier, Indian government directed OTT platforms, media streaming and digital intermediaries to discontinue web series, movies, songs, podcasts and other content originating from Pakistan.
Here’s a twist, on Thursday Indian government again blocked them all after an emergency internal rival. By Thursday morning, they were once again blocked and showed “user not found”.
Recently, Indian-Punjabi actor and singer, Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardar Ji has been released. Government banned the movie in India because of the presence of Pakistani actress in the movie.
What will happen by blocking Pakistani Accounts in India?
- Indian Audience Loss- the loss of Indian Audience will impact views drop, likes, shares, or entertainment opportunities lack. No monetization from India.
- Reduced Revenue and Brand Value- Earnings from YouTube, Instagram or other collaborations made lose Indian ad revenue and partnerships.
