PM Modi’s Surya Ghar scheme comes with free 300 units per month for beneficiaries who will apply for rooftop solar and install solar panels on their roof. By Installing solar panels, households will get the benefits of this scheme and will get zero bills for up to 300 units of consumption per month. Below are the steps to apply for this scheme and get subsidized electricity consumption benefits from the center.

  1. Visit the official website of PM Suryaghar: pmsuryaghar.gov.in
  2. Click on Apply for Rooftop Solar.
  3. Register by entering your details like State, District, Consumer Account Number, and Electricity Distribution Company.
  4. Apply for the Rooftop Solar as per the form.
  5. Wait for the feasibility approval from DISCOM. Once you get the feasibility approval install the plant by any of the registered vendors in your DISCOM.
  6. Once installation is over, submit the plant details and apply for a net meter.
  7. After installation of the net meter and inspection by DISCOM, they will generate a commissioning certificate from the portal.
  8. Once you get the commissioning report. Submit the bank account details and a cancelled cheque through the portal. You will receive your subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.
