Based on the statement given by the Ludhiana police commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal, they arrested him under sections 295-A, 153-A, 153, 504 IPC, and 67 Information Technology Act after a case was registered against him. He also said that Kaushik hurt religious sentiments by promoting enmity.
