The company added more than 1 GWp during the April–December period, marking a 127% year-on-year increase over installations in the corresponding period last year. Customer adoption rose sharply, with about 1.7 lakh new customers added during the period, a 345% jump from a year earlier.

TPREL’s cumulative rooftop solar installations now exceed 3 lakh, translating into over 4 GWp of installed capacity nationwide. The December quarter proved to be a breakout period, with 58,476 installations and 372 MWp capacity added in Q3 FY26, representing a 242% year-on-year growth.

Geographically, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Telangana led installations during the nine-month period. On a cumulative basis, Maharashtra and Gujarat remained the largest contributors, followed by Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh, reflecting the company’s strong pan-India execution capabilities.

Tata Power said the growth aligns with the government’s push to scale rooftop solar adoption under schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, and supports India’s broader clean energy and energy security goals.
