The eplane company looking to build the flying taxis has come into force. More and more people are eager to know the details about this flying taxi. Mahindra Group chairman, Anand Mahindra, also gave a hint about this flying taxi. The eplane company is all set up and founded at IIT Madras. After Anand Mahindra shared about this company, the post became viral. As per the details, the flying taxi will be working on fulfilling the needs of reducing congestion in the traffic.

The eplane company incubated in IIT Madras has a high chance to launch the Air Taxi by the next year. The company works with the motive to reduce the traffic on the roads. Several international companies like Boring Company are also working on the solution. Elon Musk also works on reducing the traffic and time consumed on roads. While eplane is using the air passage to solve the same problem. The company will soon release a prototype of the product.

Eplane’s Founder and CEO is Satya Chakravarthy. The air taxis will be named eVTOL (electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aircraft. Thus, it will not need a runway to fly. They will follow the vertical takeoff similar to a helicopter. The company also has its Drones. They are specialised to lift 2-6 kgs of weight. It can be helpful in several activities as well. The eplane company is looking for options to make it available commercially.

The process of the launch of the final product in the market won’t be easy and short. It will first take up to a year to finalize a prototype. If the prototype works well, the company will look for certification from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to get the final product launch in the market. The company expects another two years in the process. Thus, it will take up to 3 years for the complete process.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group appreciated the youth of the country. He mentions that India will no longer be seen as a country that lacks genuine innovators. Anand posted a picture of the air taxi with the caption on X(Twitter). These air taxis will be completely electric and won’t depend on fossil fuels.
