Jaipur: United Breweries Ltd (UBL) on Tuesday announced the launch of Kingfisher Smooth Strong Premium Beer in Rajasthan, marking a strategic expansion of its Kingfisher portfolio in India’s dominant strong beer segment.

In a regulatory filing, the HEINEKEN-owned brewer said the product has been made available in Rajasthan with effect from January 7, 2026, and is currently aimed at the domestic market.
Kingfisher Smooth has been positioned as a mainstream strong beer innovation targeted at younger legal-age consumers who prefer strong beers but are increasingly seeking a smoother and more approachable drinking experience. The beer is brewed using imported hops and contains no added sugar, while retaining the strength associated with the Kingfisher brand, the company said.
Rajasthan has been chosen as the launch market given its status as one of India’s largest strong beer-consuming states. The company said the product is designed to be more “sessionable”, aligning with changing consumption occasions and evolving consumer preferences.
“Kingfisher Smooth is a first-of-its-kind innovation in the mainstream strong beer segment, designed for next-generation consumers,” said Vivek Gupta, chief executive officer of United Breweries. He added that the launch reflects the company’s continued focus on innovation and brand investment.
UBL said the strong beer segment continues to dominate beer consumption in India, but consumer insights point to growing demand for smoother variants that do not compromise on taste or strength. Kingfisher Smooth expands the Kingfisher Strong franchise while reinforcing the company’s consumer-centric portfolio strategy.
The product will be sold across leading retail outlets in Rajasthan and will be priced at ₹100 for a 330 ml bottle, ₹145 for a 500 ml can and ₹185 for a 650 ml bottle, the company said
