In a filing to stock exchanges, the Aditya Birla Group company said the expansion takes the total grinding capacity at the Aligarh unit to 4 mtpa and lifts its overall capacity in Uttar Pradesh to 13.1 mtpa. The move is part of UltraTech’s ongoing expansion programme aimed at deepening its presence in high-growth regions and improving supply efficiency.

Following the commissioning, UltraTech’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 191.36 mtpa. Including its overseas operations, the company’s global capacity has risen to 196.76 mtpa, reinforcing its position as the country’s largest cement producer by capacity.

The company said the new capacity will help it service markets more efficiently, improve logistics optimisation and enhance its market reach, at a time when infrastructure spending and housing demand continue to drive cement consumption across key states.

The additional capacity in Uttar Pradesh, one of India’s biggest cement-consuming markets, is expected to support UltraTech’s growth plans in the northern region.
