Bharat Bandh is taking place on 21 August 2024 after increased support from the SC/ST groups of Rajasthan for bandh. Thus, there will be tight security in Rajasthan to maintain the peace and safety of the people. Apart from that, DGPs from the state will also conduct a meeting with these groups to manage the situation. Why is there a Bharat Bandh tomorrow?
Bharat Bandh is taking place to protest against the Supreme Court’s decision on the SC/ST reservation changes. The highest court of India has declared its decision on the SC/ST reservations stating that Those Who Need It Should Get Priority In Reservation. Due to this decision, there will be subcategories in SC and ST groups. While the SC/ST groups showed a big dissatisfaction with this decision.
Afterward, Rajasthan’s SC/ST also showed their support for the bandh tomorrow. Thus, the protestors from SC/ST groups want the Supreme Court to take the decision back. Many organisations are showing support and concluding the court’s decision to be unfair. Keeping in mind the security of the people, the police force including officers, magistrates, and divisional commissioners already discussed the precautions through online video conferencing. Apart from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh will also have tight security.
What Will Be Available During The Bandh?
There will be no public transportation running during the bandh. However, several things will remain open during the bandh also. It includes ambulance services, emergency, hospitals, and medical services. Apart from that, police will also be available, Other medical services like pharmacies will be available for medical help. Bharat Bandh might influence the court’s decision. Thus, it may lead to the old reservation method to come back. However, there is nothing sure at the moment.
