Meta – the company behind WhatsApp, has revealed that it will discontinue support for the WhatsApp app on certain Android smartphones beginning October 24th 2023. This move is part of their ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and convenience. WhatsApp will now exclusively provide support for devices running Android OS version 5 and newer.
The Android phones that will no longer be compatible with WhatsApp include:

2. Samsung Galaxy Note 2
3. HTC One
4. Sony Xperia Z
5. LG Optimus G Pro
6. Samsung Galaxy S2
7. Samsung Galaxy Nexus
8. HTC Sensation
9. Motorola Droid Razr
10. Sony Xperia S2
11. Motorola Xoom
12. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
13. Asus Eee Pad Transformer
14. Acer Iconia Tab A5003
15. Samsung Galaxy S
16. HTC Desire HD
17. LG Optimus 2X
18. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc3
Additionally, Meta ; WhatsApp’s parent company recently introduced a new feature that enables users to make purchases directly within chats. This feature allows WhatsApp users in India to make payments to businesses using various payment options, including UPI apps, debit and credit cards and more. To facilitate this, Meta has partnered with payment solutions providers PayU and Razorpay to support credit and debit card payments, net banking and all UPI apps in India.
Meta also plans to introduce “Meta Verified” for businesses using WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook as part of their ongoing efforts to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
