Zomato CEO demands Rs 20 Lakh in Chief of Staff Hiring, Netizens reacts

Deepinder Goyal shared a screenshot of the hiring post for chief of staff for Gurugram headquarters. He added in his post that the person should be hungry with common sense and empathy. Along with it, Mr. Goyal wrote that the candidate must be “down to earth” and have “zero entitlement”.

But the interesting is yet to be discussed here. After all the details regarding the post of chief of staff, Zomato founder added that if the candidate gets selected then will not be paid a salary for the first year and the candidate has to donate ₹20 lakh to Feeding India. From the second year onwards, the candidate will get a salary of over ₹50 lakh.

“There is no salary for this role for the first year. You will have to, in fact, pay ₹20 lacs for this opportunity. 100% of this “fee” will be paid in the form of a donation directly to Feeding India (if you are offered the role, and you accept it). At our end, we want to demonstrate that we are not trying to save money here – we will contribute ₹50 lacs (equivalent to a Chief of Staff salary) to a charity of your choice. Second year onwards, we will start paying you the usual salary (definitely more than 50 lacs, but something we will only talk about at the start of Year 2),” the job description for Zomato’s Chief Of Staff read.

There are several interesting reactions from netizens over this post by Deepinder Goyal. Some of the replies are available below.
